Hello eveyone, I see on the Scotland Marriage Index and the Death Index two individuals that may be a connection for me. Both events occurred in Plantation. Does anyone know where that is? It could be anywhere in Scotland, not just Argyll. Lorraine Beitz Ontario Canada
Lorraine It's in Lanarkshire, in what would now be Glasgow, south of the River Clyde - near Govan, I believe. With the increasing industrialisation of Scotland in the 19th century, it's entirely possible that descendants of an Argyll family could have fetched up there - some of my relations did.
