Erected by Katherine STEWART in memory of her parents Angus MacPHERSON and his wife Mary MacMILLAN also their children ???? and Anna Erected by his family in loving memory of Angus McMILLAN, farmer Ardslignish died 30th January 1894 aged 56 years.     3. Hi Stuart I'm very interested in your posting re McMillan and MacPherson grave markers at Kilchoan. My wife's great grandfather, Donald McPherson, son of David McPherson and Jean Cameron, migrated to Victoria, Australia, in 1853 to work as a shepherd at Stawell (area then known as Pleasant Creek) for a family of Mc Millans. Donald, baptised at Acharacle in 1826, gave Kichoan as his birthplace on the 1851 census. We have often wondered whether there was a connection between Donald and the McMillans was as we have no information as to why he came directly from Scotland to Stawell. It could well be that there is some family tie up here - if only we could unravel it!
