    3. Stuart, You could be the answer to my prayers too. I am descended from a Hugh McLachlan (born 1750 in Ardnamurchan) and Isobel McMillan. I know nothing further of either of them other than that they had a son John, born 1798 in Ardnamurchan. John McLachlan married Agnes McMaster about 1825. As best as I can make out, she was born in 1806 at a place called Kilmonaig in Inverness (I can't find this on my maps). John and Agnes spent some time around Glasgow and then settled in Jamestown, Dunbartonshire. My g-grandfather Duncan McLachlan (b at Jamestown on 24 March 1841), their 7th child, came to Australia in 1863. His sister Isabella (b 19 Aug 1826) had come here a couple of years earlier with her husband Alexander Livingstone and it is possible that another brother moved to Canada. Anything that can fill some of the gaps in my understanding would be very much appreciated. 3. Hi John: I think you mean Kilmonivaig. It is a parish near Spean Bridge and Fort William. I have some tie-ins with McMasters in that area (ours married a McPhee). I will see if Agnes shows up on my tree.
