I am trying to find out what happened to the siblings and mother of my gggrandfather and his brother who migrated to australia c 1853. Hugh McPherson MCINTYRE bn Skipness parish 1828 and his brother Archibald bn 1830 also Skipness. Their father was Archibald McIntyre, schoolmaster Clonaig (nr Skipness), and mother Sarah (Sally) MCNEIL. They were married 1818 at Kilmartin Glassary. I would dearly love to find what happened to Sarah, as she was a widow by 1851 with only her youngest, a daughter also called Sarah (bn 1836 Skipness)and two young nephews Malcolm 7 and Duncan McNeil 5 (bn Glasgow) living with her. Her other children were John bn 1819, Peter bn 1822, Malcolm bn 1824, Neil bn 1833. I am currently investigating the possibility that Peter may also have come to Australia, but that still 4 missing children and mother. Also, if there is anyone with access to the 1841 census for Skipness, could they possibly do a look up for this family. (Archibald (senior) was still alive at this point. They were living at or near the farm 'Creggan'. Thanks for any light anyone might be able to shed on this mystery Lesley, Melbourne, Australia
