I'm trying to trace a John McDougall born somewhere on Mull in 1863/4 and when I posted a few days ago and kindly soul forwarded me the information below. **The following is from the 1881 Kilninian and Kilmore census district 7 page 2 at Balligown Farm House. McDougall, John 51 M Head Crofter McDougall, John 18 M son Gardener Domestic Servant McDougall, Myles 11 M son Scholar McDougall, Sarah 9 F dau Scholar McDougall, Malcolm 7 M son Scholar ** Now, out of the likely suspects I have to date I think that this John could very well be mine due to his profession. By 1891 John McDougall was working at the Ardgartan House near Lochgoilhead Argyll as a gardener. In 1891 he married a Hughina Catherine Mather in Tain and in 1901 husband and wife and 3 sons were living and working at Ardgartan. Does anyone out there have any idea's how I can try to verify if this John (or any of the others) are in fact my John. Katrina
