    3. Can anyone tell me if there are any newspapers or other sources available in libraries which would have covered a murder in Campbeltown in May 1897? I have a death certificate where the amended certificate states that the injuries were inflicted by the husband but there is no reference to a Fatal Accident Inquiry. I understand the husband was jailed for her murder and their only child was sent to Quarriers Home and later to Canada and that her father joined her there after his release from prison. Is it likely that a murder in Campbeltown would have been covered by newspapers such as the Glasgow Herald or would it have been too far away and where would the court proceedings have taken place? Can anyone living locally tell me whether next weekend is a holiday in Campbeltown as it is in Glasgow? Thanks for any advice offered Carla Salveta

    3. The local newspaper for Campbeltown is the Campbeltown Courier. I would have thought that a murder would be recorded in the Glasgow Herald and if so the Mitchell Library in Glasgow would have copies of the relevant paper.
