Hi Listers, Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get beyond the marriage of William SMITH in 1764? I remember that when I searched the OPR for Kilmartin, Glassary parish many years back, I could not find William's baptism as the Register began 1746. My SMITH ancestors lived in Kilmartin, Ardrissaig and Lochgilphead for many generations and a great great aunt of mine, Sarah MCPHAIL knew of the line back to the William below. She said that Roderick was the first SMITH but I do not know how to go about tracing this fact so far back beyond Registers. Do any of the more experienced among you know what I should do next, please?
