    3. I think you will find that if they had family they will be buried in the family graveyard. Remember, in those days people were incarcerated for very trivial reasons (illegitimate babies etc.) My great great grandfather died in another asylum in Scotland - there because of his alcoholism but he was still buried in the family village. . 'Lochgilphead' as it was and still is colloquially called is the mental hospital for the whole of Argyll so people may have come from some distance away.
