My ancestor was their daughter Janet b 9 Mar 1828 Morvern married (1) 22 Dec 1848 to John Lawrence REID in Morvern, second marriage Norman McINTYRE 1873 in Cardross d 1 Mar 1912 Cardross, Dumbartonshire The IGI shows several children of John CURRIE and Janet McKAY: Hector CURRY b 3 Sep 1809 Torosay Murdoch CURRY b 11 Jun 1807 Torosay Cirsty CURRIE b 6 Apr 1814 Morvern Male (no name) CURRIE b 22 Dec 1817 Morvern Anne CURRIE b 26 Aug 1821 Morvern Peggy CURRIE b 29 Oct 1826 Morvern Janet CURRIE b 9 Mar 1828 Morvern My ancestor Janet also had a brother Alexander, and probably a sister Sarah I've seen the Morvern OPR film - matches the IGI, but have not yet seen the OPR film for the births listed in Torosay. 1851 census for Morvern in the Village of Lochaline Enum Div 6 Janet REID Head Mar 23 Ag Lab Wife Arg Morvern Janet REID Dau -- 1 1/4 Arg Morvern (John Lawrence Reid was not with his family for this census, presume he was away working?) I was sure that I'd found their mother Janet (McKay) CURRIE's death 20 Mar 1859 in Cardross, informant son Alexander Currie but now I'm not so sure - now I have a death cert for John CURRIE 29 Apr 1862, Lochaline, Morvern, informant son Murdoch Currie. Janet McKAY's parents are listed as John McKAY and Mary m/s McPHERSON John CURRIE's parents are listed as Malcolm CURRIE and Sarah m/s McDONALD Can anyone help with these people?
