Hi List, My surname interest in Argyll is ARMOUR, MCCLEAN, MCGEACHY, MCCALLUM and MCQUISTAN / MACQUISTAN. General areas of Killean , Campelltown, and Sadell. The time frame about1868 back to 1700s. My first request is on a brick wall for the ARMOURs. John and Donald MCQUISTAN married ARMOUR girls. John to Catherine in 1868 in Killean & Kilchenzie. Donald to Ana / Annie on 24 Sep 1874 in Ogle Co., IL. I do believe these two are sisters, but not certain of that since there was ARMOURs in Illinois prior to the MCQUISTANs coming to America. Catherine born in 1845 in Scotland ( do not have better location ) and Ana born 29 Mar 1847 in Argyll. In about the latter 1868 this MCQUISTAN family removed themselves to relocate in the U.S. , in the U.S from Illinois to Iowa and then MCQUISTAN / ARMOUR and the MCQUSTAN / MCCALLUM to Nebraska. I am not sure how many ARMOUR family lived about the Argyll area in 1860, so a cenus request may be to much to ask with out better locations. Just hoping here that one of the listers know about the ARMOURs of the area. I am also wondering if the Marriage ST of Scotland do show parental information? I did find it on Scotsorigins and can order it through gro. I have never ordered one and wondered what it could tell me. Thank You in advance for any help.
