Dear Listers, I have recently joined this list in the hopes that somebody here can help with a couple of things. One of my husbands ancestors Peter SCUTTS was a taxidermist who was born in Aberdeenshire in 1863. He later became a laundry proprietor in Edinburgh from at least 1896, however prior to this he had a taxidermist shop in Oban. In the 1881 and 1891 census (when he was 27) he was living at home in Aberdeenshire with Naturalist shown as his trade. My questions therefore are: 1. We would like to determine when he had this shop in Oban (we believe possibly between 1891 and 1896) and hope that a trade directory or street directory would list him. Does such a thing exist? and 2. If so how would I access such information from here in Australia? We have a wonderful photograph of him standing in front of this shop in Oban and would very much like to add some additional information to it. Hoping somebody can help. cheers Maureen
