Hi listers. . Don't let this bit of journalistic bull... fool you. Yes, it makes a good story but is rather far from the current day truth. I can think of at least 6 Campbell families living in the area. . The NTS (National Trust for Scotland) have built a new Visitor Centre. There are at least 4 problems : . 1. it is rather close to some of the graves which has annoyed some locals. 2. it's somewhat bigger than we were led to believe and considerably larger than what it's replacing.. 3. the proposed signposting is a bit "over-the-top" especially in an area of scenic beauty. Locals have difficulty getting permission for ONE 2' x 2' sign to advertise their business let alone the number/size NTS propose. 4. some local shopkeepers/restauranteurs/cafe owners think it will take trade away from them. . As you can see a "continuing fued" is good for publicity. . Anyway I hope you'll all come and see our beautiful area and then you can make up your own minds. .
