There is a Dunans near the north border of North Knapdale Parish. It is about midway between Crinan and Lochgilphead, a little south of Crinan Canal. I have an Ordnance survey map of that area. It looks quite small and probably wouldn't be on a lot of maps. There may be other places with the same place name. Seems to happen with some frequency. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hassall" <rhassall@axion.net> To: <SCT-ARGYLL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 05, 2002 7:49 PM Subject: [ARGYLL] place names Keils, Torranhouse, Dunans, Kilmeny Parish > Hi there > I have these places for baptisms and am unsure where in Jura or Colonsay > they could be.
