Hi List Members: Is anyone researching one or more of the following couples? James LINN/LYNN and Mary BLACK married Aug. 28, 1820 at Gigha. Their daughter Betty, was born 29 Sep. 1821 at Killean & Kilchenzie. John BLACK and Janet McFIGGAN married 30 Dec. 1830 at Killean & Kilchenzie. Duncan McMILLAN and Flora BLACK married 2 Oct. 1832 at Killean & Kilchenzie. (I think the IGI listing of the year as 1822 is incorrect but I haven't checked the actual Parish Records.) Their son Hugh was born 18 May, 1834 at Killean & Kilchenzie. I think Mary, John and Flora may be siblings of my ancestor Alexander BLACK. His parents, John BLACK and Elizabeth McALISTER, were married 1 Feb. 1798 in Campbeltown. They had many children, and I have photocopies of the Killean & Kilchenzie christening records for most of them. My ancestor, Alexander BLACK married Kate CAMPBELL 26 Sep. 1832 in Killean & Kilchenzie. Their son John's Jan. 25, 1834 birth is listed in the Parish of Gigha records. The family left for Canada soon after as their next child was born in Canada C1836. (I don't know if any of Alexander's siblings came to Canada.)
