Greetings. A fine family history of these McMasters was prepared many years ago: H. Shiell McMaster 1982, 'Records and Recollections of the McMaster Family of Rangers Valley, Glen Innes and Croppa, Warialda', Land of the Beardies History House Bulletin, vol. 10, no. 3, pp. 3-32. It was written in 1943 and revised by the author in 1964. The family originally came from Tomacharich, a farm in Inverness-shire, Scotland, near Fort William. They migrated in 1837 on the 'Brilliant', sailing from Tobermory, Isle of Mull, to Sydney, NSW, Australia. I am keen to contact any other descendents of these McMasters, and particularly to locate the letters that H. Shiell McMaster quotes in his family history.
