Hi Jill, Here would be my suggestions; 1. I would try to find John & Jessie, w/children on the 1871 & 1861 censuses, (which you can order the films for from your local LDS). 2. I would also try to find them on later censuses (1891 & 1901). You may find other family members living with them which may give you clues. Many times I have found parents &/or siblings living with the family that give me valuable leads. 3. The actual OPR records (which you can also order the films for at your local LDS) will give you same information as the IGI record, excepting that they may also give you a more exact location for the event. If John is from a "community" of only a few households, then your chances of making family connections are quite good. 4.
