G'day I have missed the earlier discussion on Salachan and have not had any luck in getting into the map site but will keep trying. My map OS Landranger 49 of Oban & East Mull 1:50 000 shows in blue ( to show features like rivers, bays, lakes .. oops lochs) just to the west of Fiunary a Camas Shalachain imprinted on the sea, with a river labelled in blue entering the sea there Abhainn Shalachain and nearby (in black) a Dun Shalachain. There is a caravan park/camping ground at Camas Shalachain site as i visited the area to see Fiunary where my great grandfather John MCLACHLAN son of Dugald MCLACHLAN & Peggy CAMPBELL was born in 1832.
