    2. Thank you for your responses re Isle of Islay. I don't know what parish I want to look in. The islands of Argyll are like a foreign land to me. Is anyone tracking the name McKAY there? I have Gilbert McKAY, who was probably born in the 1770s. I find him in Renfrewshire in 1798 marrying Janet SMITH, and I have informaton that says he came from the Isle of Islay. A son is named Dugald, maybe a family name . . . .
