Hello all I have noted the birth of a John Campbell in the LDS Pedigree Resource File His mother, Ann Campbell, was born at Ballinby, Kilchoman, Islay and married John's father in Kilchoman. John was reportedly born " ......abt 1771 at Castle Swin, North Knapdale, Argyllshire, Scotland" John's father was also born (1711) at Castle Swin according to the Pedigree File. Other information I have gleaned suggests that Swin (or Sween) was a ruin much before John's 1771 birthdate. Does anyone on the Islay or Argyll list have knowledge of this castle and possibly its occupants ? Thanks kindly Helen
