I read that a couple of years ago that Clans Macleod and Macdonald were taking part in DNA Y chromosome family history research under "Oxford Ancestors" and I wondered if anyone knows how the results turned out? The object was to see how many if any could be related to there respective clan chiefs and each other. Has anyone any information on this particular research program? Testing is done on males for the Y test to determine ancestors. As a matter of interest how many people would be interested in taking part in a test for The Macpherson family, if this test was offered.
