I have observed in our family that the Minister's name is sometimes given, or even the mother's maiden name.' Thank you Margaret for that tip but I have explored it as much as I can at this stage and can't find that connection. It is possible that there is no recorded baptism as the family lived in quite an isolated area in Australia and his father was a drover. He would probably have been baptised by a minister doing his rounds by horseback. So far I have not found a minister of that name of any denomination in this region. Many people living in isolated areas had their children baptised by which ever minister arrived on the scene regardless of denomination, so it involves exploring all the records of church archives for possible notebooks.
