    3. As well as Sarah's useful summary, and David's reference to McKINVEN > LOVE, I can offer the following: MacILHERAN (and similar) > SHARP (confirmed by George Black's book) and (a Christian name) Gilnive > Edward. Two other examples of interchangeable Christian names where the former version still survives are Padraig, Patrick, etc/Peter, and Daniel/Donald. 3. I have definitely found Donald & Daniel interchanged in my family--also Patrick & Peter. A couple others I've come across and Agnes & Nancy & Ann, also to my confusion Sarah & Marion.
