Further to this very interesting exchange, I am interested if there are others who have come across the interchange of Mary & Margaret (Peggy) in ARL. I think it has occurred in my family a number of times, probably because of the similarity of the two names in Gaelic to an 'English' ear. Also wondering if anyone has found the use of Sarah & Ann(e) for the same person at different times. Anne Maye.
