Hi Cathy, 1841, 1861 and 1881censuses for the Fort William area can be found at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ked1/ftwillcen.html Below is the entry for your family in 1861. The number 20 is simply the number assigned by the indexer to that household. Notice the John Cameron - servant, and Colin Cameron - head (don't know why there's a second head in the same household. You should examine the original record, if possible) who may be relatives. Note: There appears to be an error in the information you obtained from the IGI regarding the location. Annat (or Annaat as it may be spelled in the 1861 census) farm is not in Ardgour - it's in Corpach! His mother was a Catherine McIntyre from Argour and the family was down there in 1870 & 1871 before settling over in Kinloch-Rannoch. There is a possibility that we're distantly related but, with all the Camerons and McIntyres in the area, it's probably very remote. Hope this helps. Let me know if you're able to go further back on your Cameron line. You might want to check for Archibald's death record on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk He likely died sometime between the 1861 and 1881 censuses. Good luck! Maureen Nantista Huntington, NY, USA
