    2. Helen Campbell Blair The answer to your query is that Castle Sween was a place where people lived and that a reference to it does not mean that the birth took place in the castle itself. Castle Sween is recorded as an estate on the 1751 Valuation Roll of Argyll. I do not have access at this precise moment to the 19th century Censuses but it would not surprise me if it still appears there as an 'address'. A child born to a family who lived on the estate would be recorded as being born at Castle Sween. Frank Bigwood
