Hello everyone, I am new to this list and am trying to trace my elusive ANNAND family! I have found on the IGI a record of birth for an Alexander Annand who might be my 4 x great grandfather, however I am trying to prove that he is and I am not sure how I can go about doing this. The record I have found is: Alexander ANNAND christened 28 Sep 1790, Inveraray & Glenaray Father: John ANNAND Mother: Mary LINDSAY The definite information I have about my Alexander ANNAND is that he moved down to England sometime before 1815 and married Susanna?. Alexander and Susanna had 7 children, all christened at the church of St Andrew, Enfield, Middlesex between 1815 and 1827. I have found my Alexander on the 1841 census of Edmonton, Middlesex, aged 50, Gardener, born Scotland. From the Scotlandspeople website I have found 3 or 4 Alexander ANNAND's christenings which would fit this age group on the 1841 census. The Inveraray and Glenaray one fits best. Does anyone have any ideas how I could prove that this Alexander ANNAND from Inveraray and Glenaray is mine? Is the 1841 census for this area indexed? If so, I thought that perhaps if there is an Alexander ANNAND of the right age it might show that the he did not move to England. I have been unable to find a marriage for him in Inveraray and Glenaray which points to the fact that perhaps he was the one that moved to England and married Susanna. I hope the above makes sense, This is such a brickwall for me and I would be so grateful if anyone could help me with the problem. Kind regards Kirsty in New Zealand. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
