Could anyone please enlighten me as to what conditions were like on Calve Island during the early 1800's? Are there any remains of crofts to be seen today? Would the crofts have been made of stone with thatched roofs? I have scant information about this place where my ancestors appear to have lived for a time. All I know is that the island is uninhabited today. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. C J. Stevens.
