Hi All. My Grt Grandfather Archibald Campbell lived at Airnascavagh Kintyre for at least 46 years, in the 1851 census he was noted as being a shepherd on 700 acres of Moorland, I have recently confirmed that this farm was part of the Duke of Argyll,s Estates. My Grt Grt Grandfather Colin Campbell was also on the 1851 census at Balnabraid, as a shepherd on 900 acres Moor, the census entry suggests that this was close to the above Airnascavagh, and I wonder if this was also part of the Dukes Estates ?? can anyone help with that theory, I am also wondering if some K S might suggest a good early Map Site where I might be able to locate, Airnascavagh or Balnabraid, I am assuming that they are/were, down Southend direction. Regards Stewart Campbell.
