Thanks to everyone who answered my question regarding the 1881 census. I think I just forgot Scotland was absent from that series of records. For those of you who may have the set & will do lookups you might contact Random Acts of Genealogy Kindness www.raogk.com and volunteer. A cousin hosts the site & the volunteers you encounter are wonderful. Also, other records - I know I have a 1861 census on line at rootsweb for Kilbrandon & Kilchattan Parish, Argyll. Such a tiny parish, few are searching there! But I have also transcribed 1841 & 1871 for the same parish. I hope to have all three data bases on line before too long.
