Hi List Some more from me .. I am trying to extend my scant knowledge of my CAMPBELL connection from Morvern. After the recent very interesting postings about names, I suspect that I have a naming oddity in a Peggy who is not a Margaret (Margaret = Meg = Peg) but a Mary. This could arise because she was called Margaret by her parents (and subsequently Peggy) and that the records listed her as Mary because of the translation to English of the gaelic names which sound similar to the non-native speaker. I am interested in a CAMPBELL family from near Lochaline in MOR ARL which I believe was: John CAMPBELL & Katrine LIVINGSTONE Issue: Mary c 1805 (my Peggy) Alexander c1815 (possibly) Duncan c1816 (possibly) One of these boys may have had a daughter Barbara. Peggy CAMPBELL married Dugald McLACHLAN c1823. These are my gggrandparents. Any connections out there? Anne Maye.
