    3. Hi Sandy, the couple I originally queried about certainly had a son named Alexander bap 7 April 1787 in North Knapdale parish Argyll. In fact my Sarah named one of her sons Alexander in 1826. HOWEVER, Alexander is a fairly common name, and I'm sure there would be hundreds of Alexander McNeills in the appropriate time frame all over Scotland. If Alexander and Helen were still alive at the time of Janet's wedding, there is an extremely good chance that their deaths will be included in the Statutory Records (ie:Death certificates issued), which are available online with scotlandspeople. This is a fantastic site, and the information included on them is much better than the English ones. If your Alexander is on there, it will include his both his parents names. This site also has the Scottish census's so if you can find Alexander on any of these (and Janet certainly would be on the 1851 census) it will give you a good indication of where he was born. Hope this is of some help Regards Lesley Melbourne, Australia

    3. Thank you for replying, I'll try Scotland's People as that's where I found their names on Janet's wedding certificate.
