Hello all Could some kind souls please attempt to verify from original parish records an IGI entry, Batch 115252, hopefully with more details: JOHN RANKIN marriage to CHRISTIAN DOWNIE Lismore & Appin Parish, 06 DEC 1835. It is thought this couple had a daughter Christian/Christina, whose age is given as 6 on her arrival with her parents in Sydney aboard the "HERALD" in Janmuary 1844. Her parents' ages at the same time were given as 32 and 30. Can this couple and child be located in the 1841 Census? I re4alise John and Christian were very common names and Rankin was common especially in the Glencoe region. John Rankin is thought to have been born 12 JUN 1814, baptised 18 JUN 1814, second child of Donald Rankin and Ann McDougall of Glenn Leac na Muidhe, Glencoe. Thanks in anticipation, Bill.

Hi Bill A search of the online 1841 census doesn't find John Rankin & Christian Downie. Have no suggestions why.
