I wonder if that story is a truism? I have also heard the story of the parish of Kilmore and Kilbride in Isle of Mull which has missing OPR records and the story goes that the minister was sailing across Loch Na Keal in Mull when a storm blew up and sank the small boat resulting in the loss of the parish records .
