My 4th great grandfather was Rev.Duncan McAllum,born 1751 died 1834.He was a gaelic highland preacher well thought of by Wesley who called him "The North Star".He became a Methodist Minister in 1775.His father also called Duncan McAllum was tutor and Baille for the Duke of Argyll.There is a mention of Duncan McAllum as a witness at Dunbarton 25/7/1701,in The Argyll Particular Register of Sasines 1676-1780.Rev. Duncan McAllum had a son,Dr.Daniel McAllum M.D who also became a Methodist Minister in 1817 preaching mainly in The Shetlands.He died in 1827.I have no birth or death places ,or obits for these people.My first documented date for Rev. Duncan McAllum is his marriage to Elizabeth Livingstone 14th January 1784 at Inverness.Hoping someone out there can help me with these names.Ian Duncan McAllum.N.Z.
