    1. [ARGYLL] More Montgomery info
    2. Here is more on the kin I am searching to find.My cousin Margo found this info. If you look in the 1861 Census we find John Montgomery, who was not with his father and mother in the 1861 census in Strachur. However, we do find him in the 1861 census with his aunt Marth (Montgomery) Kerry listed as an apprentice fleshier to his uncle John Keddie, who was a fleshier or butcher. So now we understand how he became a Butcher instead of a smithy. Also note in the other information I sent to you in the 1861 census that we find that Dougald Montgomery was the Postmaster. So apparently his son William took over the Smithy when his grandfather William died, and William's son John after him. Colin was Dougald and Jane McKenzie's youngest child according to the 1861 census. ANY FURTHER INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED Peggy in SC [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) omit the ''2007'' to get correct email as I added it to stop spam
