Hi Sandy, Mary McNab Kane was the dau of Alexander McNab and Elizabeth Keith (or McKeich). Alexander McNab was born 1799 at Killean and Kilchenzie, son. to Robert McNab and Mary McEachran. He died 1872 at Campbeltown. Alexander McNab and ElizabethKeith had at least 11 childaren that I know of , all born Campbeltown 1827-1849. Dont have much information on their children after that, though I do know one son, Alexander, ended up in Dunbartonshire. I tracked a dau Helen to Renfrew, Mary and Peter Kane and family stayed in Campbeltown. I am wondering where the others went?? I guess that is why we have the Argyll list..... right? Maybe you or someone else is related to these McNab?. Tell me a little abt your Campbeltown McNabs....maybe one of mine went to Australia. Here's hoping , Jen ----- Original Message ----- From: "a.stevenson" <[email protected]> To: "Jen" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 09, 2007 2:56 PM Subject: Re: [ARGYLL] Colquhoun and Kane, Campbeltown, Argyll > Hi Jen, do you know very much about Mary McNab's side of the family. > Sandy (Australia) > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jen" <[email protected]> > To: "Janet" <[email protected]>; "ARGYLL LIST" > <[email protected]> > Sent: Saturday, February 10, 2007 8:11 AM > Subject: Re: [ARGYLL] Colquhoun and Kane, Campbeltown, Argyll > > >> You are right, Janet, the Kane(Kean, Kain)'s were from Ireland. Hi Jen and all, My head can't get round all these names but I wonder if James McKeich/Keith below could be connected with your McKeich/Keiths. He could be marrying my Christina McPhail. Or someone else's - but as we said, we must be related somewhere Jen. Marriage on 19th January 1854 at Killean & Kilchenzie /Kilcalmonell & Kilberry Christina McPhail to James McKeich (Keith) I only have an in-law McNab - Grace who married Ninian Paton 1849.
