I have a family bible in gaelic containing a list of children's births at Upper Shirvin in the 18th and early 19th centuries which belonged to my great grandparents. Some of the inscriptions were written by the Reverend Donald Jackson, a relative who was the minister at Kilmartin. Amongst the name is mentioned a Niel Campbell who married a Mary McKellar and their children. This man is buried in Kilmartin graveyard. There is another couple in the graveyard records with similar names - Neil Campbell of Strachur who married a Mary MacKellar but they are separate inidividuals from my ancestors. I have been given information about the lineage of Mary McKellar if anyone is interested. I have a copy of an old map with Upper Shirvin on it which I will email to Jean. Kind regards Frances Fogarty
