You are right, Janet, the Kane(Kean, Kain)'s were from Ireland. I believe Antrim. That is all I know. Peter Kane father of Janet who md Alex Colquohoun, ended up in Campbeltown. He md Mary McNab in 1855. Their chldren wer born there from 1855 to 1871. Peter Kane died in Paisley, Renfrew and Mary McNab in Govan, Lanark, The Colquhouns I cant find anywhere. Was the Gorbals District full of Irish immigrants?
