You've found the same problem a lot of us find when we need to trace backwards. Search for the marriage first; you seem to have some assurance that she was married to Neil McCallum. From what source did you get that information and, is it reliable. The marriage certificate will tell you who the parents were. You might try and search for the death certificate of Neil which will give you some information. Have you found any records of their children between say 1855 to 1879 when Neil died? I think that's the best searching strategy you can apply.
