When I re-read RL Stephenson's "Kidnapped", after returning from Ed Miller's Folksongs of Scotland tour in 2003 (which I highly recommend), I did it with a map of Scotland spread out before me. Fun and enlightening to be able to follow David Balfour's steps, which certainly didn't concern me when I first read it.
