Kindly seeking information on the Walker family of Glassary. Children of Duncan Walker & Mary Campbell born at Glassary: Archibald b. 1790, James b. 1796, and Isabell b. 1798 Isabel Walker & George Henry m. 1816 at Glassary. The '41 census lists Isabella & George Henry in Glasgow: George 50 Mason Journeyman, Issabella 40, Ronald 20 Mason Journeyman, Robert 16 Mason Apprentice, John 12 Carder Cotton Apprentice, James 10, Henrietta 8, Helen 6, Thomas 4, Anna 1. In the '51 census, Henrietta Hendrie 18 House Keeper lists her birthplace as Lochgilphead. Knowing the Crinan Canal was being built at that time and given George Henry's occupation as mason, I suspect he came to the Glassary area to work. Possibly the same is true for Duncan Walker.
