Thank you very much for that Jo-Ann. The translation of the Occupation is a beauty isn't it? He certainly seems to be the correct one and helps to confirm that the baptism did take place in Campbeltown. Having already looked very carefully at the original parish registers on microfilm at the LDS FHC and not finding him, I think I will just have to accept that he was omitted from the register for some reason.
