    3. Hello List, I've been going through the OPR for Gigha and came across a sign which looks like Sin.m with the m high up to the right. It is part of the title of John McNeill Sin.m Esq. of Gigha. Does anyone know what it would mean? I can send a copy as took a snap of it if anyone willing to look. I think it must be a convention of some sort. Cheers, Mary

    3. Mary, Could it be Senr., abbreviation for Senior? I have a name in my records that is written John Baillie Sen + high r which I know meant Senior since his son John Baillie lived nearby.
