    3. Sheila asked > I give up. I can't read this place, let alone find it. In 1830, John Cameron, carpenter, apparently lived at Hislaig? Lislaig? in Ardgour. Any ideas? This is most certainly Trislaig in Ardgour which is directly accross Loch Linnhe from Fort William.  Although in the 1841 Kilmallie Census for Trislaig the John Camerons listed are Ag Labs and not Carpenters.  Perhaps Sheila could enlighten us as to where she read about Hislaig or whatever. 3. Hi, Les, Well, it LOOKS like "carpenter." It's an OPR listing for a birth, 19 May 1830, Mary, daughter to John Cameron carpenter Trislaig? Ardgour & Margreat Cameron his wife. The Mary I want should have been born in about 1836 or 1837, but this is the only one with parents of the right names. Or presumably the right names. One never knows for sure on death certificates! Thanks for the clue about the farm/hamlet/village name. Sheila in Missouri (where it snowed today on top of fruit blossoms and flowering bulbs)
