I have the following two baptism records from Scotlandspeople - Solomon McCOLL on 20 Aug 1768 ( I believe he is my GGGG Grandfather) Margaret MCCOLL on 20 Mar 1771 to Dugald McCOLL and Janet LIVINGSTON of Killean, Lismore. I can't find a marriage or baptisms for Dugald and Janet as it seems the IGI and Scotlandspeople only have marriages in this Parish starting in 1767 and baptisms starting in 1751. Does anyone know whether registers for Lismore & Appin exist prior to these dates and if so, how could I access them please? I did find a marriage of Dugald McCOLL & Janet McCOLL at Inverfolla/Inverpholla, Appin on 4 Jan 1768 which would fit the timeframe to be Solomon's and Margaret's parents and I wonder whether Janet's surname on the marriage record may have been incorrectly recorded as McCOLL? - probably just wishful thinking on my part!
