Hi List, Does anyone know how to find a mariner on the 1841, or other census? This is my ongoing problem - I still want to find my Duncan McPhail and here is all I know about him. His father and brother (if he's the right family) were mariners and he is described as a seaman at his marriage. Born Gigha 1819 (I know who I HOPE were his mother and father) but no birth/baptism record found. Raised Campbeltown but never found on 1841. Married Campbeltown 1843. After the 1881 I can find no sign of him anywhere - no death record. Thanks for any help.
