Hello fellow listers, I joined the list today, so I thought I would say hello, and ask if there is anyone here who could help me with a brick wall I have had for the passed few years. I have two ancestors that I have traced that lived in the North Wales area circa 1800's. For year we assumed they originally came from Dunoon, but I couldn't find any trace of them ever being there. Last night by accident I found out that they actually came from Campbeltown. For years I have been looking in completely the wrong place. I wonder if there is anyone out there who might be able to help. My brick wall is; JOHN CAMPBELL - born circa 1771 in Campbeltown, Argyllshire, Scotland. JOHN died 15 April 1850 in Penyffordd Nth Wales. Burial: 1850, Dyserth, Nth Wales. Occupation: 1807, John is employed as a Gardener at Llewerllyd. He married JANET DOBIE. Born circa 1778 in Campbeltown, Argyllshire, Scotland. JANET died 02 June 1865 at Llys Farm, Meliden, Nth Wales. Burial: 1865, Dyserth, Nth Wales. Children of JOHN CAMPBELL and JANET DOBIE are: ALEXANDER CAMPBELL, Born: 16 March 1798, Pendref, Rhuddlan. Baptism: 23 March 1798, Rhuddlan JAMES HENRY CAMPBELL, Born: 04 August 1799, Rhuddlan. Baptism: 18 August 1799, Rhuddlan. CHARLES CAMPBELL, . Born: 17 March 1807.Married: JANE PEACOCK, 14 January 1837, Abergele. Witnesses where James Henry Campbell and Frances Trapceirn MARY CAMPBELL, Born: 1813, Rhuddlan, Nth Wales. Died: 12 June 1887. Married: THOMAS JOHN WILLIAMS. Son of JOHN WILLIAMS and ANNE HUGHES. He was born 1808 in Cwm, Nth Wales. Baptism: 25 January 1808, Cwm and died 08 March 1887. ANNE FRANCES CAMPBELL, Born: May 1806. ELIZABETH CAMPBELL, Born: 14 November 1810, Rhuddlan. Baptism: 02 December 1810, Rhuddlan PETER CAMPBELL, Born: 23 April 1815. Died: Dyserth, Nth Wales. Married: ELIZABETH DAVIES, 27 October 1838, Rhuddlan. Born: Kings Head Inn, Rhuddlan. Died: Dyserth, Nth Wales. EDWIN CAMPBELL, Born: 28 April 1822, Bodryddan. Died: 27 August 1835, Dyserth, Nth Wales. JANE MARIE CAMPBELL, Born: Rhuddlan. Married: HENRY WILLIAMS, Brother of Thomas John Williams. I would be grateful if anyone one the list can find anything about JOHN CAMPBELL or JANET CAMPBELL (Nee DOBIE).
