Hi Bill You know I would love to see them. I have not had time at all to follow up the connection. I am really hoping that we will get a local family history group going here in the Oban area this winter, and maybe someone will be interested and have the time to explore that corner. Having said its really much more in Les's North Argyll and Lochaber Family History Groups area !!!! <g> Maybe one of his groups number will have an interest in that part of the world? > > I do not know if any attempt has ever been made to clear and inspect this burial site.  It is said that, when Duncan McColl erected this stone, the old stones were already damaged or illegible. Considering there is NO connected interest in ANYTHING historical, genealogical, local history yadda yadda yadda in this neck of the woods, sorry we are all letting you all down very badly. Glen Etive is now a Highland area, whereas then it was an Argyll area. Its almost forgotten by both, although the pier has recently been done up substantially as they are now taking forestry out by sea from the Glen. > > However, his inscription clearly indicates that earlier McColls, his forefathers, were buried there.  Surely it would not have been only McColls interred there but also other names associated with this estate or location. oh YES ! Can anyone find me a parallel week to be able to indulge in things like this <g> Seriously Bill would love to see the goodies. Well done.
