I have long known that my Great Grandfather James McIntosh was buried in Kilfinin on 29th Sep 1930.?I knew he was not buried in the cemetery in Millhouse on the road to Kames. I also assumed his first wife Jane McIntosh ( nee May), who died in 1891 was buried in the same lair.?I was unsure where his second wife Catherine McIntosh ( nee McGilp, who died in 1934 was buried, but knew from family rumour it was either in the same lair or in a lair nearby.? I was surprised however, when last week, when I tried to check with Milton House in Dunoon, to find they had no records of any of their burials.? I later established that Milton House in Dunoon only kept records from 1901,for the municipal part of the cemetery at Kilbride. On his obituary it shows that James McIntosh was buried in the churchyard at Kilbride Cemetery and wonder who keeps those records. I assume it might be the Church of Scotland and wonder how to access such records or if anyone has records of burials there.? Any advice would be welcomed Duncan?? ------------------------------ To contact the SCT-ARGYLL list administrator, send an email to SCT-ARGYLL-admin@rootsweb.com.
