    3. Sometime ago some one was looking for a name place, where it was, what people knew about it, I couldnt find my book at the time, if you want me to look it up for you now I have found it and will glady look it up for you, it is just Argyle I believe Cathy

Hi Cathy, I think that was me, and this was my original query - In the Ancestry 1851 census, I have Archibald Whyte (should be Whiteford) living at Clachan, Rasay (sic) who is recorded as being born at "Kr Kassan, Argyllshire". In the Ancestry 1861 census, I have him (actually transcribed this time as Archibald Whiteford!) living at Fearns, Raasay and this time his place of birth is recorded as "MacHermon, Argyllshire". Any help you can offer would be very much appreciated.
